Creating Total Solutions to Aerospace Challenges since 2001
Total Aerospace Solutions Pty Ltd (TAS) was formed in 2001 to take advantage of the broad industry experience of the company principle engineers. The company focuses on turnkey solutions for small to medium aerospace engineering related projects. The in-house capacity to design, prototype develop, test, certify and manufacture allows the company to rapidly and efficiently provide customers complete solutions. TAS also assists customers by providing, where necessary, the skills and resources for the customer to develop their own in-house solution. TAS is a CASA Approved 21.M Design and Manufacture Organisation.

Project History
Ground Training Devices
In addition to aircraft modification work, TAS also has extensive experience with constructing ground training devices. These projects include a full scale cabin mockup used for training aeromedical operatives on the B200 Aeromedical Fitout as well as numerous rotary wing training devices.
Spectrum Pod Integration
TAS integrated its Patient Loading Device (PLD) with Spectrum Stretcher Pods for the NT Air Ambulance operations. TAS can create a design to integrate with any stretcher system.
Air Road Stretcher System
Due to logistics issues with the supply of an existing stretcher system TAS was asked to develop an Air Ambulance stretcher, which was compatible with the road ambulance. The TAS design mounts the aircraft stretchers used throughout NSW to be transported in standard road ambulances. The design for standard stretcher loading with roll on roll off characteristics (no lifting).
Neonatal Transfer Units
TAS have assisted Newborn and paediatric Emergency Transport Service (NETS), based at Westmead Hospital NSW to develop a new generation neonatal transfer unit. Four units are presently in operation across NSW.
Underwater Escape Trainer
TAS has designed and manufactured Underwater Escape Trainers for two different helicopter types. The designs replicated full sized cabins and allow for simultaneous training of up to six persons.
Hydraulic Door Opener for B200C King Airs
The first hydraulic door opener for a Cargo Door on a B200 King Air was installed on a RFDS B200 in early 2008 at TAS Albion Park Facility. The system utilises a single hydraulic ram replacing the aft cargo door gas strut and a self contained hydraulic supply. A number of interlocks are incorporated to prevent accidental operation of the hydraulics.
